ABOUT COLD SPRING COUNTRY CLUB

Cold Spring Country Club is a private member club with tennis facilities, golf course, gym, swimming pool and dining facilities.  It was established in 1946 and is privileged to have Oheka Castle overlook the golf course. Cold Spring is a very family orientated club and very friendly.  We welcome all employees to be part of our family and have numerous staffing events through out the year to boost morale and give back.

Our membership which consists of family, couples and individuals all with a passion for either golf, tennis or just the amazing food service and events that we do. We have numerous club events through out the year, but mainly during the summer months, which include rock themes, clam bakes, comedy shows and our newest event which staff are allowed to participate in is our very own “Cold Spring Got Talent?” contest!

We are generally busy during the summer periods but with a recent change in management we have managed to turn the club around and make it even busier than before with off peak attendance higher than ever!


Cold Spring needs employees who are willing to work as part of a team as well as individually and will provide members with the highest level of customer service.  The ideal employee would be someone who is willing to learn and better themselves, has a great attitude and interacts well with others.

AREA INFORMATION

Cold Spring is located in Huntington NY and we are fortunate enough to be near all amenities and transportation.  We are surrounded by shops, a train station and a bus services and we are easily accessible.  On students’ days off New York City is just under an hour away (about $15 one way) and we are on a direct line to the city.  As well as that we have the Walt Whitman Mall 2 miles away, which can be accessed by bus, taxi and is within walking distance.  We have a lot of horse trails and riding centers around as well as the beach, which is a train ride away.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

We are hiring 3 females and 2 males for our wait staff (5 total). We cannot hire friend groups or couples. All students must have at least level 9-10 English, as their primary responsibility will be speaking with customers.

Wait Staff: Serving members on a day-to-day basis.  This also involves special events such as Weddings & Bar Mitzvah’s and club events such as clambakes and themed events.  Staff members will be expected to attend all training sessions and work as part of a team.  There will be multiple roles such as setting up for events, cleaning event spaces and dining areas and maintaining a professional appearance and attitude towards learning and furthering service skills.

UNIFORM

There is always a dress code whether it is during member dining or private events.  Students are expected to bring black pants (not leggings or jeans), black shoes and black socks.  The club will provide a shirt, tie and black jacket for a la carte dinners.  A deposit will be taken from the students and returned to them when all parts of the uniform are returned.  It is recommended that all students purchase these items before they arrive as more often that not they are required to start immediately.

WORK DATES

Arriving: May 1st to May 15th.

Departing: September 16th; 4 months is the minimum time commitment required.

WORK HOURS AND SALARY

During the peak season, May-August, students will work 6 days a week and a minimum of 40 hours per week. Hours will depend on the demand from the club and may be less but this is unlikely.  Students should be prepared to work long hours when the demand is high.

Students will make $8/hour and will be paid time and a half for overtime (over 40 hours).

There will also be a $1 bonus for every hour they work upon completion of their contract!

HOUSING

Accommodation is at no additional cost to students, however a deposit will be taken from their first two paychecks and will be returned when the students leave, provided the room clean and not damaged.

The housing is located on the property and is above the clubhouse.  Students will share a room with one or two other people.  There is wireless Internet available and a fully functional restroom for male and females. There is public transportation nearby and the mall is 2 miles away with bus or taxi services close by.  The train is a 10 minute walk and is on a direct line to NYC which takes approx. 45 min to an hour.

Accommodation Description: Accommodations are provided by the Good Shepherd Inn inBranson. The cost is $140 per week, per room. If you wish to share a room with someone, thecost would be $70 per week. A microwave and fridge is included in each room. Transportation to and from your job is a available 7 days a week, $3 each way.
